This is Blake Hartley. He is 25 years old and comes from Shropshire in the UK.

On the 8th of August last year, 2 days after his 25th Birthday, he vanished inexplicably and without trace in Chamonix, France.

Sadly I have to report that in January, 2007 some remains were found in the River L'Arve, 60 km's south of where Blake disappeared and forensic tests have now proved them to be Blake.

His family and friends are desperate to find him and they need as much as help possible to do it.

His mother, Sally, has written an account of Blake’s last known movements and how his family, close friends and military colleagues searched in vain for him immediately after his disappearance – please read it.

After a very extensive search, they found no trace whatsoever of Blake anywhere in or around Chamonix.

We believe he is still alive.

Have you seen Blake?

He is most likely to be in a mountainous area in France or maybe Spain or Italy, but in fact, he could be anywhere in Europe or indeed the World.

We need as many people as possible across the world to help look for Blake, so, even if you don’t have any information to provide, please tell as many people as you can about this web site – they might be able to help.

If you have any information that would help us to find Blake, please use any of the variety of means available to contact either his family or the Missing Persons Helpline. Your information will be treated in complete confidence and, if you want, you can provide information anonymously.

Please send this web address to your friends - Thank You!
